Blizzard Lays Down the Law Again (PC)

Approximately 59,000 World of Warcraft accounts are banned.

It’s good to see Blizzard actively policing its virtual world. The Irvine-based developer announced recently that 59,000 World of Warcraft accounts were banned this June. Not only that, but more than 22 million in gold was removed from the total economy across all the WoW servers. In an official post on the WoW message boards, a Blizzard representative writes, "While we regret having to take such extreme action, these accounts were participating in activities that directly violated World of Warcraft’s Terms of Use, including the use of third-party programs to farm gold and items."

The post goes on to say, "Such behavior not only negatively impacts the economy of a realm, it diminishes the achievements of those who play legitimately. We will continue to aggressively monitor all World of Warcraft realms in order to protect the service and our players from the harmful effects of cheating." The post ends with a request for subscribers to report any players using illegal third-party programs to farm gold or items. This is just another strike in what’s turning into a long battle against gold farmers.

Malorne

Also known as: the White Stag, the Waywatcher, Apa’ro (term specific to tauren)

Malorne was a forest demigod who always took the form of a huge white stag, despite the powerful nature magic he wielded. He and the moon goddess Elune were the parents of the demigod Cenarius. The tauren have a myth that purportedly relates the story of Cenarius’ conception.

Because Ysera the Dreamer agreed to act as Cenarius’ foster mother, she has often been mistaken for the demigod’s true mother. As a result, there are also rumors that she and Malorne had a romantic relationship. However, such rumors are baseless, though Ysera had a deep affection and respect for the demigod. He was one of nature’s mightiest champions and a frequent visitor to the Emerald Dream.

Powers of the Wild

Indeed, Malorne possessed a strong link to the Dream that was similar to that of a green dragon. He, too, had dreamsight, and so simultaneously perceived both the Dream and the current state of Azeroth.

Malorne also possessed healing powers, along with a calming aura that sometimes stopped battles before they began. Furthermore, he was one of the first living beings in the world. By the time of his death, he had become one of Azeroth’s most beloved and powerful demigods, and he was renowned for his wisdom.

Rumor has it that a group known as the Druids of the Antler once existed: a collection of people who sought to emulate Malorne and recreate his powers on Azeroth. If druids as a whole are wary of detection, though, this small subgroup, if it exists, has proven even more elusive. No solid evidence of these particular druids has ever been found.

A Valiant End

Yet memory is fickle, even for the night elves, some of whom witnessed Malorne’s heroic death. In the ensuing millennia, most of Azeroth’s denizens have forgotten Malorne. Almost all of those who do remember the tale are druids.

During the War of the Ancients, Cenarius appealed to Malorne and the other demigods of Azeroth to join the battle against the Burning Legion. After much debate, Cenarius persuaded them to unite under the command of Captain Jarod Shadowsong, who was leading a large army of night elves and other creatures against the Legion. When Cenarius was badly wounded in battle, Malorne charged at the attacking demons and held them back while the night elves dragged his unconscious son to safety.

Irritated at losing his chosen prey, Archimonde emerged from the demonic host and challenged Malorne to single combat. The other demons cheered Archimonde on, and the White Stag stubbornly fought with all his might. Even so, ultimately Archimonde snapped the heroic demigod’s neck.

When you first start a game of World of Warcraft, you will be taken to your race’s starting area. All the races except trolls and gnomes begin in a unique location. Those two races have to share starting locales with World of Warcraft the orcs and dwarves, respectively. After watching a brief in-game cutscene introducing your race, you are set loose upon the world.
World of Warcraft Gold presents many different monsters to challenge you in battle. These creatures roam the countryside and populate vast dungeons and aboveground locations. There are wandering beasts, such as wolves, spiders, scorpions (called scorpids in this world), six-legged crocodiles called crocolisks, crabs, vultures, hyenas, big cats, bears, World of Warcraft and more. More sinister enemies also block your travels. Humanoid foes of every kind, such as pirates, bandits, cultists, and soldiers from the opposing faction, join more unnatural monsters like undead, oozes, gryphons, World of Warcraft and elementals, in providing conflict and danger on your journeys.

You’ll also see some familiar World of Warcraft monstrous creatures, such as ogres, gnolls, centaurs, satyrs, murlocs, wildkin, and others, that are inspired by the hostile creeps of Warcraft III. And you’ll encounter more spectacular enemies like demons, infernals, dragonspawn, and mighty dragons stalking the World of Warcraft dungeons and high-level areas of the world.

The territories and terrain you will be able to World of Warcraft explore are vast and varied. In addition to borrowing from some of the most storied locations in World of Warcraft Gold history, the game also shows off many different kinds of environments, such as the lush forests in Ashenvale and Feralas, World of Warcraft the snowy mountains in Dun Morogh, the savannah of the Barrens, the plains of Mulgore, and the deserts of Tanaris. Swamps in Un’Goro Crater, jungles in Stranglethorn Vale, farmland in Elwynn Forest, and even deforested hills in Stonetalon Mountains are some more of the many environmental regions you can explore. Terrain that has been vastly altered by magic and the ravages of war World of Warcraft also appear in the game. The razed city of Dalaran, encased in a protective magic shell, is a painful reminder of the devastation of the Reign of Chaos, while the infested Eastern and Western Plaguelands are filled with diseased animals World of Warcraft and plantlife, courtesy of the Scourge’s plague.
